At Bob’s I manage the networks at multiple locations like our stores, greenhouses, and at our HQ. Way back when, the only way I knew when a connection, device, or service went down was when I got a call from someone that something wasn’t working correctly. There had to be a more efficient way!
On Friday morning I was awakened by my phone’s text alert. It was the uptime monitoring system for Bob’s. It’s not uncommon for less important devices, like the greenhouse webcam, to restart and show up as offline for a few minutes each week. However, this alert was for our website. It never goes offline!
